We are excited to have you join us at this year’s Mass. Black Expo. Due to COVID-19, we are delivering a high quality, interactive, virtual-only experience centered around our theme, "The Renaissance". Below is a list of frequently asked questions about the Expo:

When is the expo?

This year’s Expo will be ONLINE, following Covid-19 Restrictions, taking place November 19 – 21, 2021.

Is this year's expo a virtual event?

Due to Covid19 restrictions, this years event will be held solely online.

What are the benefits of becoming a Workshop Presenter?

The 2021 Mass Black Expo: Workshops, is your opportunity to showcase your expertise to our community and directly engage with Expo Attendees – during the event day and well beyond.

When should I submit my application to become a Workshop Presenter?

Presenters should submit Applications by November 1, 2021.

How much does it cost to present at the event?

Thanks to the support of our generous sponsors, there is no cost to present at the event.

What platform will the expo be held on?

The expo will take place on our Hopin Platform, Presenters will be need to become familiar with StreamYard on Hopin in order to access microphone and cameras for the weekend of. Our MBE Manager, Ashley Patterson will send out further details once it is confirmed that you are a presenter.

Do I need to register for the event as a presenter?

Yes, all attendees should register for the event even exhibitors, you can register under "General Admission".

What information should I include to the audience while I am presenting?

The necessary information will be dependent on your choice of how you decide to present. 1. Workshop 2. Panel 3. Other If you would like to share a powerpoint while presenting please send this over to our MBE Manager, Ashley Patterson, apatterson@becma.org by November 1, 2021.

Do I need to include a headshot for the virtual platform

Yes, all presenters must include: 1. Headshot 2. Professional Bio 3. Description of workshop, panel,etc. 4. All names of additional workshop presenters

Will technical assistance be provided?

Training session on setting up your booth will be provided along with all the necessary technical specification for graphic and video elements.

Will there be a run of show?

All presenters will be expected to participate in a technology check with our team to ensure that there are no issues prior to the event.

Will I have a moderator?

Please reach out to our MBE Mangager, Ashley Patterson, apatterson@becma.org if you need an outside moderator.

How should I prepare as a presenter?

Workshop Presenters should 1. Submit a Workshop Application 2. Plan for a 30 or 60 minute Workshop, panel, etc. 3. Get creative about how the information will be presented to the audience 4. Be Clear about the chosen Topic
